I'm interested in buying several Ethernet transceiver cable extenders.
Can anyone give me recommendations on vendors and products currently
available?

My specific application is an IP router (aka gateway) that needs to
connect two Ethernets in different buildings.  I have lots of fiber
between the buildings.  One solution would be a fiber optic repeater,
thus:
    Ether-xcver--router--xcver-miniEther-xcver--fiber repeater--xcver-Ether
    \.building 1................................./  fiber  \.building 2.../

A simpler, and perhaps cheaper, solution would be:
    Ether-xcver--router-fiber xcver cable extender-xcver-Ether
    \.building 1........../      fiber         \.building 2../
