Sure, you can diddle your dialer |to turn off MNP, but it is not possible to reliably turn it back on |again at the end of an outgoing uucico connection. Problem is (at dialer diddling: send AT, get the modem's attention lookup the phone number in "/usr/lib/uucp/has.MNP" set echo, quiet, MNP option and attention char dial and wait for connect use attn char: reset MNP option and attn char Much easier to set the mode after the dial, before the connection.
