Back in 1976 I worked at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm on a text-to-speech system. There were two versions, one from Swedish to Swedish, and the other English to English. I worked briefly on the English to English system. This was one of the first text-to-speech systems and was based on the work done at the Naval Research Lab and at MIT. My boss was Gunnar Fant who is now semi-retired. You should contact the Institute for Speech Transmission at RIT. Jon Forrest ucbvax!mtxinu!blia!forrest {pyramid|voder}!blia!forrest
