I would *really* like to see buffer local syntax tables. When
I am editing LISP files, I use hyphens in my symbol names but
when I'm editing C, I like to have hyphens be puctuation.

Is there a general intrest in this feature. I'll let the FSF know
if I recieve many responses to this.
