Negative. Methinks it is important to use ENGLISH here rather than just saying, "Its the first part of character, therefore 'care'.".. If it was a standalone word, which it is (?!), it would be pronounced "char", as in "charcoal." Anything else might knock you out of you CHAIR. Besides.. When explaining casting to someone, you could then say "char star" (for (char *)).. -Jeff
