<comdisco@cae780.TEK.COM>'s question about 'char' has injected a lot of
fairly useless bandwidth into the group in the form of reposted quotes of
his whole posting, BUT I think it's worth finding out about.  I *mailed*
my reply, hoping to avoid just what happened.  If other quasi-trivia
questions come up, maybe the poster should offer to summarize for the net?
Simpler idea than finding a floating handle, eh?
