All tapes are pre-labeled, and we use the BACKUP/LABEL=(...) to specify these. When you use BACKUP to a save_set, and it prompts you for new tapes, it just overwrites the VOL1 without checking it, even if the accessibility field is used. This may cause disaster, if the OPERATOR loads a wrong tape! My intention, is to use the READ_LABEL (routine within BACKUP util, Source fiche from DEC: 29-I 12) before MAKE_VOL1 (29-K 14) is performed. The param. from READ_LABEL, and the next current label parameter from /LABEL-qualif. should be compared, and a warning sent to OPER (or to terminal if interactive) to verify a overwrite if that really is the intention. Has anyone solved this problem ? Has anyone got some details on how to best solve this problem ?
