we are in the process of upgrading our 785 to an 8550.
we were wondering if there are any alternatives to the
dec tape drive that are less expensive.  we are planning
to get other devices to do our backups and would only be
using the reel to reel tape drive for loading distribution
tapes and such.

i guess the 8550 is a BI machine but we will have a unibus
adaptor (thats what the sales people say anyway).
