Has anyone seen a problem with the Interphase 3200 VME/SMD disk
controller exhibiting "sector not found" (error code 29) using a 64
sector format with the runt sector enabled? The problem we are seeing
occurs most frequently on writes but, is occasionally encountered during
a read. The controller retries the operation one time and magically recovers
the header information. We use a Fujitsu 2344 (689MB) 8 inch SMD drive. The
Interphase 4200 does not exhibit this problem in the same environment. I'd
be interested to hear anything about Interphase VME based SMD or SCSI 
products at this point, good or bad.
