There was also a Ph.D. thesis on this subject by Robt. Goldberg
at Rutgers.  I believe this is the work that the original message
referred to.  I believe Rutgers makes all of its theses available
through University Microfilms.  It would also be available as
a Computer Science Dept. technical report, I assume.  It is
unlikely that any online copies are around, so I can only refer
you to the Department for more information.
