When was the last time you wrote a Data Management System; or a spreadsheet
program; or a transcendental package; or a compiler, linker, etc?

When was the last time you wrote a mail package from scratch, a grep program
and all of the other UNIX utilities?

WHile there is a long way to go, I think if you look at it, we've done okay.
