Help...

I'm looking for a public domain (or very inexpensive) tape backup utility 
that runs under both VMS and Ultrix. Ideally, I would like something like 
"tar" or "cpio".

I currently use "ansitape" for simple/small file transfers, but I'm about to
transfer a large number of files and need to preserve the directory structures.

I'm aware of the "tar" available in the VMS/DEC Shell package, but at $7200,
this is a bit too expense for everyone involved.
