SAS is apparently the standard for the field, but is apparently not available on UNIX - at least, my UNIX. I'm investigating SPSS... But I've heard about "S"... - can anybody tell me more about "S"? Like, is it useful? Is there any truth to the rumour that it's available to any UNIX system with source licence? Who do I contact? I am aware that there are commercial versions of "S", but I am most interested in the plain, as close to public domain as possible, version. I work on Gould machines, Powernodes and NPs, running UTX (BSD 4.3 with a System V environment). Andy "Krazy" Glew. Gould CSD-Urbana. USEnet: ihnp4!uiucdcs!ccvaxa!aglew 1101 E. I indicate my employer only so that other people may account for any possible bias I may have towards my employer's products or systems. /* End of text from ccvaxa:sci.math.stat */
