Talking about tanks, where can I get the frontline people >have been talking about??? sounds cool.... The name of the game, correct meif I'm wrong (doubt it just bought the game) is FIREPOWER! It has 3 play modes: 2 player split screen, vrs computer, or via modem. This game is great! the sound and graphics are as good as an arcade machine! Playability is good too. I haven't tried the modem, so I don't know how well it works. Breaking it down this way: Graphics: B+ Sound: B- (all those explosions get jarring after 2 hours, but WAR is Heck!) :-) Playability: B- (minor nits...read on.) Multitasks: No 1.2 Kiskstart: yes runs with xtra memory: not sure, person had problems using with Spirit board...netters? Surviability: Only one crash, after many hours of continuous play... B- Copy protection: Yes, but can be backed up with Quicknibble or MauraderII. Documentation: None. All rules tips and instructions are on the disk. Price: For only $24.00 it was a must buy program. Hopefully the low(er) price will keep the pirates at bay. (Lets not get into a discussion on this...heard it all before) Writes to master: Nope. Ran fat-n-happy with a copy. Nits: Some documentation would have been a boon. Details on the tanks used would have added to the understanding of the game. You can get stuck way to easy....have to wait for the choppers to come blow you away. (Killed a 100 just stuck between buildings. They almost never touched me. Dropping mines is a pain. If you're not really carefull you blow yourself up. I'd like to have a function key blip you out of a tight, stuck place, as a last resort and at a high penalty cost. Waiting to die is boring. BTW, pressing will abort the game. Also like to see some way of dropping mines other than the current way. maybe a funtion key mapped to the same instruction or something. This is another canidate for the mapping team. There is more than one map, too. I may do it myself and if I do I'll post results and or ask for help. My current high score is 4825. (solo mode) I'd love to challenge someone... This is a good game, and I'd like to see more like it, so please don't pirate it. -- Lawrence H.
