Thanks for the reply, (I've forgotten your name ALREADY) the
problem (the "big arrow" cursor resetting itself upon exit from
my program which changed the cursor to something else) is solved.
The solution: 
     ClearPointer(window);

(silly me, not looking for something like that in the book.)
