First is that the file may have been corrupt at the source. Nothing you can do. Second is that you are running an old version of vt100, but you say the file is truncated, so i doubt that is it (the old version of vt100 i had- 2.1- had problems with binary files). Third is that you are running the straight kermit. I just found out the other day that this thing trashes files on random occasions. The usual problem is truncation. Try to get vt100 R2.7; that sure fixed the problem for me. The problem sure kept me guessing because the kermit worked fine about 90% of the time, and my usual experience with this stuff is that it either works or does not.
