Is there a "rec.TV" string? :-) Seriously, I'd mail if I could, but I can't, so: I've used my 1080 with a VCR with very good luck. In fact, after you get your VCR, you will then have a TV, whether you wanted one or not! (This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago -- confirmed audiofile -- then got into recording digital audio on a vcr -- then had to get a TV to check out the vcr -- now a confirmed videofile.
