In fact AE has announced a peripheral card that will allow 3.5" disks, either Apple or IBM compatable to be used interchangeably on either an Apple 3.5 or an IBM compatable 3.5" drive (the only caveat is that the disk should be formatted on an IBM drive, because it (the IBM) uses the disk index holes. This is how the old 8 inchers used to work and was often refered to as hard sectored disks as most came preformatted and all tracks start from the same point.
