sizeof is not a function.  It is an operator just like * or +.  I
don't know if it is included in the compilier, but maybe it was not
mentioned in the documentation because they assumed the user would
have a C reference manual for things like this?  I know most compilier
manuals say something to the effect "this manual will not teach the
language etc...."
