Now, I have a slightly different question. I have a 3B5 (about to be upgraded to a 3B15) with System V release 2.0, and I intend to upgrade the operating system as well. My question is this: what are the differences between release 2, release 3, and/or release 3.1. In particular, I am interested in demand paging/virtual memory considerations and job control (aside from ``shl'' and the inter-process communication utilities). I have several programs that use the Berkeley strategies for job-control and that require a great deal of memory to run and I am interested in finding out how much work will need to be done to port the appropriate software. I suggest follow-ups go to comp.sys.att rather than comp.unix.questions because I am most interested in the the versions specific to AT&T 3B15's. As always, many thanks.
