I just put in a NEC V30 into my AT&T 6300. The Norton SI compares as follows: 6300 at work 6300 at home (with V30) Computing index: 1.9 4.2 Disk Index (interleave) 0.5 (2) 1.2 (6) Performance Index 1.4 3.2 I realize I must low-level format my hard disk at work and change the interleave. Anyway, My dad saw this and wanted to know how much it cost me to "soup it up". When I told him that it only cost me $13. He wanted to know if I could do that to his IBM PC/XT. I realize that it's an 8088 and requires the V20 instead of the V30. I seem to recall someone saying that it's not as big of an improvement. Any one have experiences (compatibility problems, results before and after, etc...) Thanks in advance. -- Cogito Ergo Zoom Chaste makes waste "Intelligence without character is a dangerous thing" (G.
