I've read magazine articles in 68 Micro Journal about their earlier products and the buyers seem quite pleased with the products. They aren't always perfectly debugged, but if you're a competent hacker they aren't usually bad either. As such, there's hope. I don't know about Tiny Giant, but that doesn't mean that it's a bad product. Yes, OS-9 *is* multi-tasking, and multi-user. It's also available on the Atari ST and it's selling quite well from what I hear. There's a fairly rich and growing Public Domain, and a Users' Group. There's support for OS-9 'here' on the Net, and also Compuserve and BIX (where I'm the moderator). Official Microware support support is on the Net and Compuserve. Me, I just try harder ;-). Also I should mention there's support on Delphi, but from what I understand, that group is mainly into the 6809 version (Color Computer series). My opinion of K-OS and such is this: If you want to re-invent the wheel, why not start with toggle switches and a front panel? Maybe by the end of the year you'll even make it to line editors! No point. No, that's wrong. What I should say is that *if* you have a real reason to start over -- such as a vision of a real break- through in the technology, doing something significantly *better*, then it's worth it and by all means do so. But when you've had thousands of hours of professional designing, implimenting and debugging done for you to get the basics done right, why pass that up if you can afford it? Of course that last is the trick. *If* you can afford it, I suggest you buy OS-9. I really like the idea of a cheap 68000 computer that can use IBM-PC IO cards. Good Luck!
