In short: HyperCard saves the _changes_ you make to a CD-Rom on disk (harddisk most likely) and when read again, reads the 'image' from CD-Rom and applies the changes made to it (reading them from disk, naturally). I agree the AutoSave 'feature' is annoying, but it seems no problem when used in combination with CD-Rom. . . . waste of space . .
