I worked for a Mac software house way back in '84 and Apple was big on pressuring us to support the latest and greatest, no matter how buggy the flippin' thing was. Fullwrite Pro may have been ready to go and the folks up Cupertino way said. "Hey, wait a minute...". Microsoft could tell Apple to shove off, but I doubt that Ann Arbor could.
