Crowe When the new Macs came out there was clearly a machine missing which was a (probably 68000 based) Mac with a slot like the SE but without a built in screen. Apple's monochrome monitor for the II would be one of many possible add on monitors and the price wouldn't have been prohibitive. I guess the fact that Apple makes the built in monitors so cheaply is a big consideration for them. In any case, the only reason I have problems selling people at work on Macintosh is because of the screen size (clear, but still TOOO small). Yes you can buy add on monitors for the plus and SE (for $1500 or more) and yes you can even buy the new monitor for an additional $1000 but many people would be glad to buy an SE type machine with a decent (12-14 in) monitor for $200-500 more and don't necessarily need the (still) larger screen. Apple has produced a great high end machine and solved many of the problems with the compact Mac with the introduction of the Plus and now SE, but the small screen remains unless you are willing to spend BIG bucks. I hope there is a soon a machine that resolves this problem. David Gelphman
