Lines: 15 Recently I've noticed that HyperCard's file directory has problems finding files. Here's the story: While in the Home Card I click on a button to open a newly-created stack. HC complains it can't find it and puts up the directory window asking me where it is. But when I move to the HC Stack folder only about a half dozen of my 30+ stacks appear there. However, when I choose "Open Stack..." I get the complete file list, including my new stack. Bizarre. Rebuilding the desktop doesn't help, and I get the same result with a fresh copy of the program. Does HC choke if I collect too many stacks in a single folder? Ron Nash Center for the Study of Language and Information Stanford University
