First a couple of easy ones: A "Print Selection" menu item, as in MacTerminal, would be handy for those cases when we need a hard copy of only a few lines of code. The command-click operation that brings up the list of headers #included in a source file could be extended to show the same pop-up when we command-click on the file name in the project window. Now the bigger requests. Someone may have already mentioned this one (I'm having serious brain-fade tonight), but I'd like to see a compiler option to dump assembler code interspersed with the source code lines that it came from. Yah, I know this would slow the compiler down - that's why I mentioned it as an option. Consulair C has that feature, and I found it was a nice aid for debugging and optimizing. Of course, the source-level debugger, if and when it shows up, will somewhat reduce the need for this feature. For those of us writing code targetted specifically for the Mac II, the obvious request is for compiler flags to produce 68020 code (from C or from asm{}) and in-line direct calls to the 68881, bypassing SANE. I'd bet that these items are somewhere on the enhancement list already - just thought I'd mention them in the hope that they get a higher priority than, say, colorizing the "About.." display. -- Julian Vrieslander (607) 255-3594 Neurobiology & Behavior, W250 Mudd Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca NY 14853 UUCP: {cmcl2,decvax,rochester,uw-beaver,ihnp4}!cornell!batcomputer!eacj ARPA: eacj@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu BITNET: eacj@CRNLTHRY
