On machines with the 128K ROM and up it is desirable to have all CODE resources, except the main segment, marked as unlocked and unprotected. The 128K ROM will then load them, put them at the top of the heap and lock them. This goes a long way to preventing heap fragmentation. But LSC locks and protects all CODE resources so I have to go in with ResEdit and undo that for about 15 resources. Perhaps THINK could include in the GetInfo box a place to mark what resource attributes the segment should have? I expect this would also be useful for writers of INITs, DAs, FKEYs, etc. David Fry fry@huma1.harvard.EDU Department of Mathematics fry@harvma1.bitnet Harvard University ...!harvard!huma1!fry Cambridge, MA 02138
