This is what I've learned about RAM disks:

1) A number of utilities exist (CrashSaver, Bomb Shelter, ...) which enable
 the Resume button when an error occurs and attempt to return you to the
 Finder.  This is not really what I'm looking for.

2) You can call the _ExitToShell trap yourself from the debugger after a
 crash.  I would guess that this is just a less elegant version of (1).
 Again, not really what I want.

3) RamDisk+, a $10 or $15 shareware program which I can't find anywhere,
 allows you to reboot the machine and then attempts to recover the contents
 of the RAM disk from before the crash.  Better, but still not quite there.

4) RamStart 1.3 has a News item in it which talks about RamStart 2.1, a
 $15 program "which will be available Fall '86 (RamStart 1.3 is an old
 program)".  It is supposed to have disk corruption checks and crash
 recovery and all sorts of wonderful things.  *This* is what I was looking
 for.  Unfortunately, I've been told that it never materialized.  People
 have sent the $15 to the author and not received anything.
