While working on implementing LZW compression, I've ran across an age old problem which is getting quite annoying to work around. 32K limit on static and global var size. Speed associated w/referencing off a register aside, there should be an option in LSC which would allow as large of a structure as memory would permit. It is quite annoying to keep track of a few extra pointers to simulated arrays when you're concentrating on the main task at hand. This should be done by the compiler and not the progr ammer. MPW C and Aztec C, possibly Consulair too, already support unlimited global and static sizes....so why not Lightspeed!? I like LS C for its speed and intuitiveness, but... Also, any ideas on pricing for LS C 3.0 upgrade and WHEN!?
