Please reply via e-mail and I will post a summation of the reponses. I am currently managing a project which is researching the avaliable multiuser/multitasking operating systems for 286 and 386 pc systems for future implementation on a Wyse 2214 and/or Wyse 3216 system. In so doing I have need of information regarding load test benchmarks which can be performed on the targeted operating systems. The targeted operating systems currently slated for testing are: 386/ix, Merge/386, PC-MOS/386, SuperDOS, and Wendin-DOS. The major goal is to have a multiuser/multitasking operating system which provides very strong support for MS/PC-DOS applications. I have never done any benchmarking of any kind before so I don't really know where to begin. Can anyone provide me with any information on the subject of benchmarking these types of systems? Can anyone recommend a paticular benchmark package which would be useful? I do not need to test the hardware, I know what it can/should do, but I do need to test the operating system in some sort of standardized manner. The test should be the same for each operating system, I need to compare apples to apples, not apples to grapes. Any and all assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: My ideas are my employer's property, but not my employer's. Bruce E.
