Thanks to those that responded to my plea..

We spent more time flippin, flippen switches, and now have it working
both ways:
Under CADKEY config, Western Graphtex parallel port, etc, LPT2..
Under BASIC, open "LPT:2" for output as #2
             PRINT #2, etc...

FLIPPIN SWITCHES UNDER PLOTTER.....
For CADKEY, S2-1 off, 
            S2-2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 on
            S1-1,2 OFF

For BASIC, S2-x same as above
           S1-1 ON
           S1-2 OFF

W/ S2-1 off -> Parallel input to plotter, suposedly s2-x ignored..
 ITS S1 that's the well(?) documented thing...
