Lines: 18 Approved: zemon@felix.UUCP Reply-Path: I'm trying to set up a printer on a Vaxstation II/GPX running Ultrix 2.0. The lpc status command reports "no daemon present." When I use lpc start to start a daemon, I get: lpc: connect: No such file or directory couldn't start daemon Any ideas? The manual mentions a "socket for local requests" as /dev/printer, which does not seem to exist. is this my problem? If so, how do I create /dev/printer? -- Steve Gaarder Cornell University, 171 Hollister, Ithaca NY 14853 607-255-5389 UUCP: {cmcl2,decvax,rochester,uw-beaver,ihnp4}!cornell!batcomputer!sparks BITNET: sparks@crnlthry.BITNET ARPA: sparks@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu
