I'm trying to set up a printer on a Vaxstation II/GPX running Ultrix 2.0.
The lpc status command reports "no daemon present."  When I use lpc start
to start a daemon, I get:

lpc: connect: No such file or directory
couldn't start daemon

Any ideas?  The manual mentions a "socket for local requests" as
/dev/printer, which does not seem to exist.  is this my problem?
If so, how do I create /dev/printer?
