The DEC-supplied version of X windows was presumably compiled and linked on an Ultrix 1.2 system. Therefore, it doesn't have Yellow Pages code linked in (since YP didn't exist on 1.2). Therefore, if you upgrade to 2.0, then re-install X windows, things that require YP services may not work right. The example we ran into was xhost. It couldn't add any hosts which were not in the local /etc/hosts. I understand that a new version of X windows (not X11 though) is making its way through the usual software distribution channels.
