I'd like to set my hardware tabs on the terminal to say, 8, 12, 14, 16 and 45. Then, within vi, pressing will take me to the next hardware set tabstop. To compound matters, all white space must be filled with *spaces*. There can't be any ^I's between, say 16 and 45. This has been a problem with vi, especially with autoindent -- you *always* get ^I's -- well, what if I don't want to be that efficient!!??? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I enjoy working with human beings, and John M.
