In X10, there was a -0 option to specify the value of BlackPixel, and a -1 option to specify the value of WhitePixel. In X11, these are changed to -bp and -wp respectively. In X10, the server was started with X 0 -0 000000 -1 FFFFFF so one would surmise that the X11 server should be started with Xqdss -bp 000000 -wp FFFFFF (the documentation says that a screen number argument is not accepted, so I left it out). If I do this, then start an xterm window, I get a white on white xterm (i.e. white characters on a white background). This is very difficult to use. On the other hand, if I start the server with Xqdss -bp FFFFFF -wp 000000 (i.e. reversing sense of black and white) and start an xterm window, I get white characters on a black background. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Is it expected and/or documented? I'm running on a VaxStation II/GPX running Ultrix 2.0 with the stock MIT X11.1 distribution. I haven't applied any of the posted patches yet, though I didn't see any that seemed relevant to this problem. Thanks in advance for any help.
