Yes, it is etched SOMEWHERE on every spacecraft...but WHERE?

To change the subject somewhat, for no apparent reason...  JPL employees
who have custody of government property are required to sign "property
cards" showing that they are responsible for the equipment.  I know
a fellow who signed one of these cards a few years back for a 'black box'
that was actually a piece of flight hardware.  The 'black box' was
incorporated into a spacecraft and launched.  Sure enough, a year or so
later, he got a call from property demanding that he produce this device
he'd signed for.
