We've been noticing a lot of problems lately with our packard-bell 2400
baud modems.  The problems vary from nonworking autoanswer mode to
spurious carrier drop.  Also they  get quite hot when left on for a
long time (as in overnight AA mode).
     
I am interested in hearing of anyone's good/bad experiences with this
modem.  I am particularly concerned since we have a LOT of them here
and my lab has been recommending them (however that is on hold until
we find out what's going on).
     
I will summarize results and post to the net , please send replies to me
