How can s/he do the following: 1) execute 2-5 commands instead of just one. The sequence vi: command 1: vi: command 2: locks vi up until an interrupt. 2) execute 1 command and delete the line from the file (this could be 2 commands if #1 was solved. Note that my life will be complete even if we don't have 47 people posting a message to the effect that it can not be done... Also, out of curiosity, why does placing a : in front of the vi shut off the command? (ie vi:command: will work fine but :vi:command: is ignored? /\/\ \/\/ -- Michael R.
