Read the keycomp(1) man page for details. By default, none of the function keys except for the arrows are mapped. You'll have to map them to use them. A few of us here have written some Lisp code to generate a complete keyboard mapping for the sun keyboard, along with some code to generate the appropriate keymaps and bind functions in these keymaps. I think we've sent this code back to RMS.
