This should be discussed in comp.dcom.modems, not comp.lang.c.  If
you read this via network mail rather than Usenet news, you can
obtain comp.dcom.modems via NNTP (if you can find a client for your
host and a server willing to send) or, I believe, via the INFO-MODEMS
mailing list kept on SIMTEL20.ARPA.
