We have a mail alias called "everyone", and it is quite annoying when someone sends out a message to which people using Berkeley mail (or mailx for you ATT-types) respond using 'r', which generates replies to everyone. In order to avoid this happening, I send my "everyone" messages using "Bcc: everyone" and no "To:" line. Now, MH deletes the Bcc: line and sends the message to sendmail, which sees that there are no recipient fields (to, cc, bcc, and apparently-to), and generates an Apparently-To: line for each of the people in the Bcc: list. In other words, a lone Bcc: is no longer blind. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make MH not do this? Maybe it should be part of the configuration for sendmail, since sendmail handles Bcc: already. Also, if anyone has a similar problem with "everyone"-type aliases, I have a shell script called "remail" that can be used to edit message headers automatically, so nobody has to change their style. -- David Elliott dce@mips.com or {ames, decwrl, prls}!mips!dce
