The amount of errors will be different from tape to tape. We usally use BACKUP/VERIFY when we do backups and on the verify cycle it reports no differences between the disk and the tape. Also when we do restores from the TK50's we have no problem recovering the data (of course the amount of restores we do is small compared to the number of backups that we do). I kinda of agree that 1600+ errors on one TK50 is pretty steep.
