I also have been seeing the problems mentioned in previous messages when
trying to establish connections between a host on DRENET (DREA-XX.ARPA)
and hosts on the ARPANET (looooong round trip times many packets dropped
etc.) but just to add some new information I seem to be able to make
reasonably reliable connections between the same host and hosts on the
MILNET.  Now I know, given our network topology that the packets to/from
the MILNET are flowing through the ARPANET so why can't I make
connections to machines on the ARPANET?
