The thought is that every time I see one I hit the n(ext) key. Take a look at the news documentation. Most unix sites send compressed news batches. This means that the savings I infer you want are already transparently being achieved. In fact, a uuencoded binary compresses very little compared to source. Finally, I challenge, but will not debate, your logic regarding the posting of binaries.
