I'm REAL GLAD someone mentioned this too. Every time someone starts to talk about how neat it would be to run multiuser stuff on their Personal Computers, be they Amigas, Macs, or 386 machines, I really start to wonder about that person. After all, you buy a Personal Computer so that you can get away from the overloaded Minis. And they were bought to get away from the overloaded Mainframes. Such computers are cheap enough that you should get more of them if more folks need access to them. Want to share resources, hook them up to a LAN. But don't run lots of people on a poor Amiga, or even a future real powerful Amiga. These things cost less today than many a VT100-type terminal did a few years ago. And you can get the VT100 emulator for free. So don't multi-user, even if it's possible. Think of it as you think of IBM or C64 emulators -- they're neat in concept, and are cool to show off to your friends. But you don't really want to use them for anything more than that. Multiuser is the same kind of thing. If you can't use all the power of your Personal Computer yourself, get a cheaper PC.
