Well, since somebody else brought it up, I guess I'll toss in my $.02. People on the shaky coast can ignore this, you've probably never heard of MARCA, and you probably never will again. Ahem, the MARCA show (Nov. 14-15 at the Park West Hotel in Marlborough, MA) was, to say the very least, extremely disappointing. Compared to last year's show, the place was dead. Part of that I think can be blamed on the fact that this show was riding hard on the heels of COMDEX, and a lot of people who might ordinarily have gone to a local show were just too burned out from COMDEX to bother. Very few vendors were there. There weren't as many special seminars and presentations as last year. There weren't as many attendees there either. Conspicuously absent: ASDG, and one of the big local dealers, Omnitek. Perry, what gives? You were real big at MARCA last year! Of the dealers that were there, I sensed suppressed hostility from all the ones I asked about the A1000 - A2000 upgrade. They became very cold, and then they suddenly were talking to someone else, like I didn't even exist. Is that any way to treat a potential customer? I went there with cash in my pocket. Because of the way I was treated, I didn't spend any of it. Charlie Heath was rumored to be there, but I never saw him. I was hoping to be able to ask him something. Somebody at the Commodore booth was going to introduce me to Rich Miner. Never saw him either. Rich, if you read this, Hello. What's your e-mail address? Last year, I went to the MARCA show and left an AMIGA owner. This year, I went to the MARCA show and left disappointed and a little upset at myself that I had actually wasted two hours of driving time to go there. -- Kevin McBride, the guy in the brace // | It's the end of the world Eikonix - A Kodak Co. // | as we know it, Billerica, MA \\ // Amiga | {encore, adelie}!munsell!klm \X/ Rules! | And I feel fine...
