There are situations where two or more users take turns using a "single user" machine. Often, it would be very nice if (1) files could be "owned", (2) different startup-sequences could be defined for different users, and (3), users in general could stay out of each other's way. You can fake these things using cli scripts, and so on, but not well. lee
