Fortunately, I'm a little ahead of you on this one :-)
(Not far enough ahead to prevent it from happening at all, though :-( )

Anyway, this effect is caused by the hddisk.device initialization code.
(which gets called via binddrivers).  There are 2 ways around it.
Once is to always let the initial CLI go away. :-(  The other is
for me to email you the latest&greatest harddisk.device. 

Open offer...if you've got the Commodore hard disk, and want the latest
hddisk.device, send me email with a *working* uucp path between you
and me (ARPA and BITNET people may have trouble with this; its been
awhile since I've been able to send mail sucessfully to anyone on those
networks) and I'll send you a uuencoded hddisk.device.  Enclose
the label from your box...err the cover of the instruction manual...
um, how about promise you've got one ? 

(its also a sneaky way to find out how many NET people have Commodore
hard disks.)

BTW, if you don't have your hard disk yet (ie, its on back order) the
harddisk.device you'll get is the latest one.  (33.38)
