Writting on a IIgs to 3.5 disk. Tested were AE cache program, Deviersi-cache, and Glen Bredons Cache and Cache XL from Prosel. The program does 50 writes and 100 reads and will be posted shortly on apple2-l. Avg non AE-Cache Diversi-cache Prosel-cache prosel-cachexl First 24.2 34.4 34.4 24.1 24.1 subsequent 11.3 11.6 24.1 24.1 As is noted both AE-cache and Diversi cache took longer on the first access than on subsequent runs. AE-cache was marginally faster but as it must be installed after booting where as Diversi-cache can be added to your prodos8 or 16 program thus speeding up the boot process significantly. Further testing is required to see the results on large file loads and writes to see the effect.
